Primary Uses or Exposures
- A brominated hydrocarbon produced by reacting n-propyl alcohol with hydrogen bromide.
- Currently used as a solvent in several industrial sectors including spray adhesives (e.g., in foam cushion manufacturing), dry cleaning (textile solvent), vapor degreasing (e.g., to clean optics, electronics, and metals), and aerosol solvents (e.g., aircraft maintenance).
- People are mainly exposed to 1-bromopropane by inhalation or through the skin in workplaces that use or produce 1-bromopropane.
