Scientific Review of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)
Primary Uses or Exposures: EBV is a herpes virus infecting more than 90 percent of adults worldwide and transmitted primarily through saliva. Most people infected do not have symptoms; however, EBV can cause infectious mononucleosis, also called mono.
