Acesulfame potassium

Specific Substances: Acesulfame potassium

Nominator: Private Individual

Rationale: Acesulfame is widely used as a component of sweetener blends with splenda and in artificially sweetened products such as "lite" fruit juices, fruit drinks, ice creams, flavored water and sports drinks etc. There is inadequate long term animal testing of acesulfame.
