Rationale: Worker exposure as exemplified by a NIOSH survey of a battery manufacturing plant, possible in vivo hydrolysis to arsenic trioxide, lack of carcinogenicity studies. Arsine was nominated for inhalation prechronic and carcinogenicity studies and mutagenicity testing. It was suggested that comparative inhalation comparative chemical disposition study for arsine and arsenic trioxide be carried out.
