Solvent for cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose, natural resins, vinyl resins, crude rubber, waxes, fats, shellac & DDT, in production of adipic acid for nylon, in preparation of cyclohexanone resins. Associated with tobacco: reported either as a natural component of tobacco, pyrolysis product (in tobacco smoke), or additive for one or more types of tobacco products.
