Known Uses

Industrial solvent, antioxidant; solvent in fiber & plastics industry; formerly in production of rocket fuels; research chemical; intermediate for 1,1-dimethylhydrazine, found in tobacco smoke, cured & smoked meats (Merck 1989). Associated with tobacco: reported either as a natural component of tobacco, pyrolysis product (in tobacco smoke), or additive for one or more types of tobacco products.
