Known Uses

Potent mammalian estrogenic hormone; produced in the ovary, placenta, testis, & adrenal cortex. Has been used in estrogenic hormone therapy for the treatment of menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms, metastatic prostate cancer, & breast cancer. Associated with tobacco: reported either as a natural component of tobacco, pyrolysis product (in tobacco smoke), or additive for one or more types of tobacco products.
