Known Uses

The essential oils in which Thujone occurs are used in herbal medicine and as flavorings, fragrances, and rodent and mite repellents. Thujone is banned as a direct food additive in the U.S. Thujone-containing plant oils are used as flavoring substances in the alcoholic drink industry.
