Known Uses

The essential oils derived from natural oil of cedar leaves in which Thujone occurs are used in herbal medicine and as flavorings, fragrances, and rodent and mite repellents. Thujone is banned as a direct food additive in the U.S. Thujone-containing plant oils are used as flavoring substances in the alcoholic drink industry.
