Known Uses

Transgenic mouse evaluation of benzene using the p16INKa(+/-) mouse model. Benzene is used in manufacture of medicinal chemicals, dyes, organic compounds, artificial leather, linoleum, oil cloth, varnishes, lacquers, solvent for waxes, resins, oils. Used to destroy screwworm larvae in wounds-veterinary use (Merck 1989)
