ICCVAM to hold public forum
On May 25, representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Defense, and other ICCVAM member agencies will present updates on activities related to the development and validation of test methods and approaches that may replace, reduce, or refine animal use. Staff from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, a new ICCVAM member agency, will provide an overview of their agency’s activities and how they support the ICCVAM mission. Updates on interactions of ICCVAM and NICEATM with their international partners will also be presented.
The public forum is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. at the National Institutes of Health Natcher Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The agenda is now available, and includes time following each agency presentation for attendees to ask questions. Additionally, a public comment session will provide opportunity for attendees to make oral statements on topics relevant to the ICCVAM mission and current activities.Interested persons can attend in person or view the forum remotely via webcast. For planning purposes, those attending in person are encouraged to register by May 13. While attendees viewing the webcast will be able to submit statements via email, those wishing to make a public statement are encouraged to attend in person to enable face-to-face dialog with ICCVAM members. More information about the forum is available on the NICEATM website.
