ICCVAM’s goals include promotion of national and international partnerships between governmental and nongovernmental groups, including academia, industry, advocacy groups, and other key stakeholders. To foster these partnerships, ICCVAM holds annual public forums to share information and facilitate direct communication of ideas and suggestions from stakeholders.

At the May 25, 2016, meeting, representatives from 12 ICCVAM member agencies were joined by attendees representing stakeholder groups and over 100 webcast viewers. Agency representatives presented updates on ICCVAM and ICCVAM member agency activities related to the development and validation of test methods and approaches that may replace, reduce, or refine animal use. Presenters from stakeholder groups praised recent progress made by ICCVAM and its member agencies towards replacing required animal tests with non-animal alternatives, and suggested future activities and areas that should receive increased focus.
