  • Colorless, volatile chemical primarily used in paints and coatings and as a cleaning solvent.
  • Used in a variety of settings such as automotive body shops and in products such as paint thinners and cement sealants.
  • It is also used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals and as a solvent for printing inks.
  • Inhalation is the primary route of exposure although dermal absorption can occur.
