Substance Overview
Primary Uses or Exposures
- An arylamine that is synthesized by nitration of toluene.
- Used as an intermediate to manufacture herbicides, dyes, pigments, rubber chemicals, and some medical products.
- People are exposed to high levels of o-toluidine via inhalation or through the skin in workplaces that use it.
- People are exposed to lower levels of o-toluidine from consumer and medical products and cigarettes.
