ICCVAM promotes the development and validation of toxicity testing methods that protect human health and the environment while replacing, reducing, or refining animal use. ICCVAM also provides guidance to test method developers and facilitates collaborations that promote the development of new test methods. This webinar, organized on behalf of ICCVAM by NICEATM, will discuss current activities in development and validation of complex in vitro models. Scheduled speakers and topics include:
- Danilo Tagle, PhD, National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), will discuss NCATS' program on microphysiological systems (MPS), or "tissue chips." NCATS is the newest ICCVAM member agency.
- Ivan Rusyn, MD, PhD, Texas A&M University, will present an overview of the TEX-VAL Consortium for validation and qualification of MPS.
- Remi Villenave, PhD, Roche, will provide an industry perspective on adoption and validation of advanced models, including consideration of regulatory acceptance.
